What Type Of Chimneys Should Be Cleaned?

Both wood-burning chimneys and those venting fuel-burning appliances, such as gas or oil-fired boilers, furnaces, or water heaters, should be regularly inspected and cleaned. This helps prevent dangerous buildups of creosote, soot, and other residues that can cause chimney fires or blockages. Regular maintenance ensures proper ventilation and the safe operation of your heating systems.

Have A Chimney? If Yes, You Will Need It Cleaned

Why Clean The Chimney?

Why Clean A Chimney?

Owning a home with a chimney comes with responsibilities, primarily to prevent chimney fires and blockages caused by animals. Here are the key reasons to keep your chimney clean:

  1. Fire Prevention: Creosote, a flammable substance from burning wood, can accumulate in your chimney. Regular cleaning reduces the risk of dangerous chimney fires.
  2. Clearing Blockages: Debris like leaves, twigs, and animal nests can obstruct your chimney, leading to poor ventilation and potential carbon monoxide buildup.
  3. Efficiency: A clean chimney ensures better airflow, helping your fireplace or stove burn more efficiently and saving on energy costs.
  4. Air Quality: Removing soot and other byproducts improves indoor air quality, making your home healthier.
  5. Longevity: Regular maintenance helps catch minor issues early, extending the life of your chimney and reducing repair costs.

Although Creosote Isn't A Problem With Gas or Oil, There Are Other Possible Safety Concerns

Our Chimney Cleaning Process

First, the hose from our power vacuum truck is hooked into the base of the chimney.

1.

STEP ONE

2.

STEP TWO

Next, the technician will go to the place where the chimney exits.

3.

STEP THREE

Then, the technician will use a chimney brush and clean the entire flue from top to bottom as our vacuum truck removes any debris.

4.

STEP FOUR

Additionally, the technician will inspect the chimney cap to ensure it is in good working condition. If not, the technician will recommend a replacement.

5.

STEP FIVE

As the soot and debris becomes dislodged, the negative suction pulls it back into the vacuum truck. Leaving no mess behind, ensuring a proper chimney cleaning.
